Quebec-based think tank says richest billionaires have donated roughly 1 per cent of the money they made during the pandemic

According to TaxCOOP is a Quebec-based non-profit think tank dedicated to promoting ideas about solutions for fair and equitable taxation in a globalized world, the answer is a resounding you bet. It reports that from March 16th to May 16th, cash donations from the five wealthiest Canadians— David Thomson, Joseph Tsai, Galen Weston, David Cheriton and Mark Scheinberg — represented 0.09% of their wealth. Over the same period, these five Canadians, who had an initial total wealth of US$59 billion, saw their wealth increase to US$64.5 billion, a total increase of more than 9%. (Newswire)
