(June 19 2020) Like so many other adjustments we’ve had to make for the coronavirus, the lack of widespread gay pride celebrations will be missed this year. In its place we feature the photos below, taken at prior pride parades around the world. A few years ago, George Clooney said, ““At some point in our lifetime, gay marriage won’t be an issue, and everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the school steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black.” We have made some progress as gay marriage and gay rights are woven into the fabric of society. We celebrate this and the activism that brought us to this day. At the same time, we re-double our efforts to work towards justice for all people, and say a special prayer for our black trans friends who are facing so much from so many. We will press on.
